Abstract

16-year-old female who had fractured crowns of the maxillary left and right central incisors due to childhood trauma, and a severe tongue thrusting habit. She had no signs and symptoms of temporomandibular disorder. After bilateral extraction of the maxillary and mandibular first premolars, the anterior teeth were retracted posteriorly to correct protrusion and anterior open bite. At the latter half of the treatment, the total maxillary dentitions were retracted posteriorly using micro-implants to accomplish Class I occlusal relationship. After 27 months of treatment, she obtained a stable Class I occlusal relationship. She did not show any signs of resorption or deformity of the condylar head, or clinically significant root resorption.
